Were at it again. We volunteered again to help the Susan G Komen For The Cure organization this year with fundraising for breast cancer research and relief. Then, we got a little carried away and made a bet with one another . First, we bet whether the other one could walk from Dealey Plaza in Dallas to Sundance Square in Fort Worth in one day. After a bit of discussion, we realized that doing the 37 mile walk would require some training and if we both trained together, then we would both finish or not finish the entire 37 mile journey. That bet was by necessity off.
Before we came to our senses, we decided to make a different bet. This time we bet-

Who will raise the most money for breast cancer by the end of the walk on March 30th. The bet isn’t about who can put in the most money of their own, it’s about who can raise the most. It is a friendly wager between friends and for a good cause but it’s still a bet that we both want to win. Braggin rights are enough to bet on when the cause is a world without cancer.
When research unlocks the secrets of one kind of cancer, then all types of cancers will be solved in short order. The only thing uncertain is not if cancer will be defeated, it is will it be defeated soon enough. The money we raise now will go toward the fight to defeat cancer sooner rather than later.
