| We Believe in a World Without Breast Cancer! No Walker Left Behind NWLB 2008-60 Miles Complete!
If your friends think your Crazy then you've come to the right place for help! World Without Cancer! Welcome to the Official Website of NWLB!!! Our main purpose is to raise money and bring awareness to the battle against breast cancer. Our website is a tool that we have put together for everyone to use. We will give you tips on training, nutrition, cross training and fund raising. We are here to help support those that are participating in the 2010 Dallas/Ft Worth Susan G Komen 3 Day for the Cure! Since 2006, No Walker Left Behind has raised a half million dollars in the fight against breast cancer. We believe that everyone deserves a lifetime. Lace up your shoes, grab your fanny pack and get ready to ...JUST KEEP WALKING!!!!! Training for an event that will take you 60 miles over the course of three days takes a great deal of dedication, commitment and effort. The Breast Cancer 3 Day Organization provides an excellent training program, that if you follow it closely, you will be more than ready to walk 60 miles without much difficulty. We have all level of walkers on our team, No Walker Left Behind, and we welcome anyone interested in walking with us. It is your responsibility to train and prepare yourself for this incredible event, however being on a team of walkers helps make the training much more fun! We support one another and encourage each other to keep on walking! We get together to train and we walk with other 3 Day walkers, as well. You do not have to be on our team, or even signed up to walk the 3 Day, in order to come walk with us. Everyone is welcome any time! Check out the Walks and Talks page for dates and places you might want to come walk and talk with us! Nutrition could be discussed endlessly and it is on the training walks. Successful 3 Day training involves proper healthy nutrition to help the walker achieve personal improved health and to successfully complete the walk. Light and healthy snacks to carry with you on long walks are a must, along with plenty of water and some form of sports drink. Orange slices, dried fruit and nuts, and some form of protein bar(Clif Bar, Power Bar, Snickers Marathon Bar, SoyJoy, etc...) are some of the favorites you will see on our walks. The 3 Day promotes The 3 R's: Refuel, Rehydrate and Relieve! For a successful walk, always remember the 3 R's! Cross training is a much bigger part of training for the 3 Day than a lot of walkers recognize. Most people who successfully complete the entire 60 miles of walking during a 3 Day event do some form of cross training to supplement their walking. Doing cross training a couple of days a week will help build your strength and endurance, and will make your walk much easier to accomplish! Jogging, bike riding, yoga, turbo kick boxing, and resistance training are some great forms of cross training you may want to try. The most important thing we do is the fund raising. The net proceeds we raise for The Breast Cancer 3 Day benefit Susan G Komen for the Cure and the National Philanthropic Trust Fund for Breast Cancer. Throughout the year we also participate in other chartiable events, however our efforts are primarily focused on The 3 Day. Our goal is to end this battle once and for all and rid the world of cancer! To participate in the walk, each team member must raise a minimum of $2,300. This is one small drop in a huge bucket compared to what is needed to learn about and fight this deadly disease. To make a donation to our team, please click here! Please choose a team member that has not met the minimum pledge amount of $2,300 and make your donation today. Every minute and every dollar counts in the fight against cancer! We consider the people who donate money to defeat breast cancer to be the most important members of our team dedicated to fighting cancer.
Success in completing a 3 Day walk is different for each participant. Meeting a fundraising goal Walking the entire 60 miles Sharing time with survivors Losing weight Becoming stronger Proving to yourself that you can do it Thousands of walkers thousands of ways to describe success
